Finland - a new destination for a Christian Holiday Our Karelian Pilgrimage takes you into the Orthodox communities of Finland where you unite with them in prayer and liturgy, visit the ornate churches and learn more about the spirituality of Icons - which are now increasingly popular in our churches.
Icons are not to be worshipped but serve as reminders of Jesus, the saints, and the beauty of God. The scent of incense and burning beeswax candles placed before the many icons fills the air of Orthodox churches together with the glorious sound of the cantors chanting. You will also have the opportunity to have a taste of the Finnish culture - music, poetry, art and food! - and the beautiful scenery of forests and lakes. A holiday to remember as well as a deeply spiritual experience. Daily Mass will also be arranged.
